Public Safety Commission selects chair and vice chair in organizational meeting

The Desert Hot Springs Public Safety Commission held an organizational meeting Feb. 13, swearing in five commissioners and unanimously electing Donna Lozano as chair and Michael Rizzio as vice chair. Staff announced the vote results after commissioners used on-screen buttons to cast votes.
The meeting opened at 6:00 p.m., and staff conducted the oath of office for Charles Lance, Myrna Flores, Donna Lozano, Michael Rizzio and Ray Sanchez. After roll call confirmed all five commissioners were present, members nominated and confirmed leadership. Staff announced, “Motion passes unanimously.”
Commissioners then approved the prior meeting’s agenda by unanimous vote. The chair led the Pledge of Allegiance and the commission moved on to orientation and department reports.
The meeting adjourned at 7:00 p.m.; the commission’s next regular meeting is set for March 13.
