The Imlay City Board of Education unanimously approved payments and adopted its fiscal 2025-26 budgets at a regular meeting June 16 at district headquarters on Borland Road.
Moved by Treasurer Doug Van Dyk and supported by Vice President Kaylee Kaeding, the board approved payment of General Fund and Lunch Fund bills and disbursements totaling $3,753,549.00. The roll call vote listed Sharon Muir, Kaylee Kaeding, Doug Van Dyk, Greg Dennis, Ashley Wolford and Laura Zelenak as voting Aye; there were no Nays.
Separately, a motion moved by Trustee Greg Dennis and supported by Trustee Laura Zelenak authorized Bond Capital Project checks and Barton Malow disbursements in the amount of $233,444.00; that vote was also unanimous.
The board accepted the Financial Report and Capital Projects Report as presented in BoardBook and then moved to budget actions. The board adopted an amended budget resolution for FY 2024-2025 covering the General Fund, Student Activity Fund and Lunch Fund, and then adopted the budget resolutions for FY 2025-2026 for those same funds. Both budget actions passed by unanimous roll call votes.
Board members said committee review preceded the meeting: President Sharon Muir reported the Budget and Finance committee had met earlier to discuss the amended 2024-25 budget and the proposed 2025-26 budget. The meeting record shows no public comment on the financial items.
The board also scheduled its Fiscal Organizational meeting for July 28, 2025 at 7:00 p.m.
The actions take effect under the district’s standard administrative timelines for disbursements and budgeting; the minutes do not specify additional implementation steps or contingency approvals.
