The Town of Farmington Council handled a slate of motions and votes at its April 6 meeting, approving the council's recommended FY2026–27 budget and forwarding multiple items to the annual town meeting and a referendum.
Key votes included unanimous approval of minutes from March meetings, approval to forward resolutions 1–8 to the annual town meeting with a recommendation that they be approved, and approval of the warning for the May town meeting and the May 14 referendum process.
A procurement motion awarded bid #377 for maintenance and repair of town police vehicles to Farmington Motorsports. A council member stated on the record that they would recuse themselves from that matter because of family ties; the motion passed with six yeas and one recusal.
Council also moved the elementary school ventilation upgrades and improvements project to the Town Plan and Zoning Commission for an 8-24 report under Connecticut statutes, established an ad hoc technology committee to oversee the municipal website redesign and mass notification tools, and appointed members including Bruce Polsky, Keith Bibbert, Kat Kraszewski (assistant town manager), Brian Rush (IT manager) and Todd Hodgman (IT support specialist).
Other routine approvals included adoption of Americans with Disabilities Act procedures, a fair housing resolution and policy statement, an Equal Employment Opportunity and affirmative action plan, Title VI compliance statement, and approval of listed property tax refunds. The council reappointed PKF O'Connor Davies LLP as the town's independent auditor for fiscal year ending June 30, 2026.
