County education office honors 11 Beaumont Unified schools for PBIS implementation

Riverside County Office of Education presented Beaumont Unified with a banner recognizing 11 schools for implementing Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS) in 2024; district and school leaders thanked staff, families and students for their role in the work.
Denise Granger of the Riverside County Office of Education presented a recognition banner to Beaumont Unified on Jan. 21, citing the district’s work to implement Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports, or PBIS, across multiple sites.
Granger, who identified herself as part of RCOE’s school engagement and wellness unit, said PBIS helps schools “nurture positive behaviors” and creates inclusive environments that support students academically, socially and emotionally. Granger and colleague Jasmine Fincher noted that 11 Beaumont schools met benchmarks for 2024 and were being honored for their efforts.
Fincher read the list of recognized sites and their status tiers: Beaumont Middle College High School, Belmont College High School, Glenview High School and Mountain View Middle School were noted at the highest tier; others, including Palm Innovation Academy, San Gorgonio Middle School, Brookside Elementary, Starlight Elementary and Summer Wind Trails School, earned gold or silver distinctions; Anahas Elementary School was listed at the bronze level. RCOE also singled out Dr. Banisha Carr for leadership assisting site administrators through the recognition process.
District leaders and board members joined principals and site administrators onstage for a group photo. Several trustees thanked school staff and families for supporting PBIS implementation and for extending positive behavioral messages from school into the home.
The recognition followed a brief presentation on the work districts undertake to implement PBIS and a reminder from RCOE of the role of teachers, site administrators and families in sustaining positive school climates. The gathering concluded with the board moving on to routine agenda business.
