Students and staff recognized; DHS Life Skills students showcase 'DHS Shredders' business

At the Nov. 19 meeting, teacher Natalie Gordon and students Emily Conderman and Anthony Burke presented their student-run enterprise, DHS Shredders, demonstrating fire-starting blocks and explaining production, sales, and future products. Order forms were made available to attendees.
The board recognized the Dixon High School boys' cross country team for a first-place finish at the state meet; Coach Simon Thorpe shared a season video and praised the team's performance. Daniela Lovett was recognized for placing 19th individually on the girls' team. Reagan Middle School and Dixon High School Students of the Month were announced by school principals. DEA Co-President Kim Bork read a district-wide list of teachers of the month.
Superintendent Margo Empen also reminded the board of the Dixon Drawdown fundraiser scheduled for Nov. 22. These items were presented and acknowledged but did not require formal board action.
