"As the legislature tightens its reins on our ability to best serve Austin tenants and homeowners ... we have to keep innovating and investing locally," Abby said.
Kadri read the formal proclamation text acknowledging the coalition’s role in facilitating dialogue with city departments and supporting policy changes to break down barriers to development and preservation of affordable units. The proclamation recognizes the coalition’s leadership and designates 04/09/2026 in Austin in their honor.
The presentation was ceremonial; no policy vote or ordinance was recorded during the exchange. Coalition representatives said they would continue advocacy and coordination with city departments to address housing affordability challenges.
