Members of the Town of Miami Lakes Economic Development Committee said the most recent Main Street Live drew a larger and different crowd than earlier events and highlighted vendor success and improved ambience, but they also flagged advertising timing and sponsor coordination as areas needing improvement.
A committee member summarized the event: "The ambiance on the event was very cool, very nice," and said a vendor who offered charcuterie and wine performed strongly and drove foot traffic. Several members said advertising had been late in the run‑up to the event; one member said the paid ad campaigns were only run in the last two weeks and suggested earlier, planned ad buys for future events.
The committee discussed vendor staffing challenges on event days, the need to confirm sponsor logos early for flyers and social posts, and the tradeoffs between organic outreach and paid advertising. Members recommended more proactive coordination with the town's marketing resources and with the chamber to ensure sponsor commitments are collected earlier and that advertising runs with enough lead time to draw repeat and new attendees.
Next steps: committee members will follow up with the town marketing contact for assets and request sponsor confirmations earlier in the event timeline.
