Denise Arrigo, who identified herself as representing the Millville Trinity First Hope Center at 102 South Second Street, used public comment time at the Jan. 6 reorganization meeting to thank commissioners for their support serving unhoused and underserved residents. She praised individual help from commissioners and volunteers who recently moved from homelessness into housing and described the Hope Center's ongoing work.
"I'm representing the Millville Trinity First Hope Center... where we serve the unhoused and the underserved," Arrigo said, noting that commissioners have visited the center and assisted volunteers who were previously homeless. The remarks highlighted collaboration between nonprofit providers and city officials.
Robert Vitt, president of PBA 213, also offered brief remarks congratulating the newly sworn officials and saying the union looks forward to working with them "for the better of this department and this city." The public comments were part of the agenda's public-comment period on agenda items.
What happens next: The commission will proceed to regular business; the nonprofit and union comments were acknowledgments and did not require formal action during this meeting.
