One member noted the town owns a very small river parcel at 285 Roosevelt Drive but said the opening is not wide enough and improvements there would likely cost more than the purchase price of the 311 parcel. A former fire chief on the board said the dedicated access at 311 Roosevelt Drive is valuable for emergency response.
The motion to purchase the parcel carried by recorded voice vote and the chair announced the motion carried (4-0).
