Superintendent Dr. Serrano framed the item as a response to substantial increases in demand since the pandemic. "Kids' Corner is a very important part of our district. We value the staff we have who are committed to our students' care beyond the school day," he said, explaining the district had explored multiple options and that the pilot was intended to free existing Kids' Corner staff to serve other sites.
