Public commenters accuse board majority of unlawful policy and ask for transportation help

Harley Larson identified themselves and said new families should know about recent board actions. Larson accused the current board majority of passing a general-notification policy "modeled on a failed bill" and of spending district money on out-of-state lawyers to defend that policy; Larson asserted the policies are illegal in California and urged voters to change the board majority in an upcoming election.
"They have introduced and passed a general notification policy against overwhelming public opposition...As of last month, these policies are explicitly illegal in California," Larson said.
The board did not provide an immediate rebuttal during public comment; the transcript records the comment and the call for future action from the speaker.
Nick Medeiros, a parent of four Rocklin Unified students, described transportation challenges for an interdistrict-transfer student who relies on bussing and asked the board and transportation staff to consider special circumstances that might help families with staggered work schedules and complex drop-off needs.
The board acknowledged the comments. President Tiffany Sadoff and staff suggested transportation staff would review routing and that staff would follow up with families. Public comment concluded with the board moving on to agenda items and then adjourning the meeting.
