Maywood board approves business license transfer, TIF consultant agreement and several community event and facility-use items
Summary

The Village of Maywood Board approved several business, planning and community items on Feb. 4. The board accepted a Letter of Agreement with Kane, McKenna and Associates to begin professional services to amend the Madison/Fifth Avenue and Roosevelt Road TIF Redevelopment Plans and secure 12-year term extensions for each district.
Separately, trustees approved an ordinance authorizing a partial corporate stock transfer for Vacha Enterprises, Inc. (doing business as Supermercado Oriente, 523 Lake Street) transferring 51% of corporate stock from owner George Vachaparambil to buyers Simon Abraham, Saji Mannamcheril and Mathew Jaison, consistent with the Local Liquor Control Commission recommendation.
The board approved a request to host the Civil War Living History event south of the Maywood Home for Soldiers' Widows. The board also approved continued weekend gym use for Atmosphere of Tumbling under a license agreement with a termination provision, and it extended the current Danka Basketball League agreement to include Saturday hours (12 p.m.–5 p.m.) while denying additional classroom space and requiring overtime pay for extended staff hours. Trustees directed staff to investigate a Farmers Fresh pop-up market proposal for the 200 Building and requested a formal proposal be submitted to staff for review.
These items passed with routine roll-call votes as recorded in the minutes; implementation steps (contract execution, licensing terms and consultant scopes) are to follow in staff work plans.
