Red Bank introduces two ordinances to expand committee membership and secure river access

The Red Bank Borough Council on Oct. 9 introduced two ordinances and set future public hearings.
Ordinance 2025-28 would amend the borough code to add a member of the Shade Tree Committee to the Complete & Green Streets advisory committee. The ordinance was introduced on a motion and passed on roll call; a public hearing on the measure was scheduled for Nov. 13, 2025.
Ordinance 2025-29 authorizes acquisition of a permanent public-access easement affecting portions of Riverview Medical Center property (Block 11, Lot 1.02 and Block 9, Lot 33.01) to secure continuous, contiguous public access to the Navesink River. Councilors moved and seconded introduction of the ordinance and approved it on roll call; the ordinance will proceed to the formal public-hearing process.
Both measures were taken up as introductions (first-reading steps). Councilors recorded their votes on the roll call; the transcript shows unanimous support at introduction. No final adoptions or land transactions occurred at the meeting; the ordinances will return for public hearings and further council action.
