The Dixon USD 170 Board of Education moved into executive session at 5:18 p.m. on Oct. 29, 2025, to discuss personnel matters and a complaint lodged against an employee, then returned to open session and adjourned the special meeting at 9:19 p.m.
Board President Linda Wegner called the special meeting to order at 5:16 p.m. and noted that meeting materials and notice had been electronically distributed Oct. 27, 2025; the meeting was recorded and the video posted to the district website after the meeting. Present in the Board Room at the Administrative Center were President Wegner; Vice President Brandon Rogers; Secretary Melissa Gates (noted as arriving at 5:20 p.m.); and board members David Fritts, Kathleen Schaefer, LeBlanc-Parks and Jon Wadsworth.
Board member David Fritts moved "to adjourn to executive session at 5:18 p.m. for the purpose of discussing the appointment, employment, compensation, discipline, performance, or dismissal of specific employees, including hearing testimony on a complaint lodged against an employee to determine its validity," and Vice President Brandon Rogers seconded the motion. The motion was approved by roll call vote with Fritts, LeBlanc-Parks, Rogers, Schaefer, Wadsworth and Wegner voting yes and none voting no.
At 9:19 p.m. the Board returned to open session on a motion by Fritts, seconded by Secretary Melissa Gates; the roll call vote recorded Fritts, Gates, LeBlanc-Parks, Rogers, Schaefer, Wadsworth and Wegner voting yea. Immediately afterward Mrs. LeBlanc-Parks moved to adjourn the special meeting; Mrs. Gates seconded and the Board voted all in favor.
The meeting record notes no citizen comments were filed for the Citizen's Agenda. No further details regarding the personnel matter or the complaint were disclosed in open session.
