County health administrator Jennifer Caffrey told the board that the health department will partner with the Division of Child Services to offer drug screening services to DCS clients under a contract with Cordant Health Solutions. Under the arrangement the county health department will perform the screens and receive reimbursement for each completed test. Commissioners approved the contract and authorized Commissioner Nelson Stepro to sign (moved by Commissioner Brad Wiseman; seconded by Commissioner Annissa Kellum; vote 3–0).
The minutes record no public comment or additional conditions attached to the contract approval. Next steps are for the county to finalize signatures and implement the screening arrangement as coordinated between the health department and DCS.
