Montclair council hears department reports: National Night Out, concert series, Gold Line and transit updates

Reid said residents may walk in to donate blood during the event or make appointments.
Marsha from Human Services (speaker 12) detailed the concert series schedule at Alma Hoffman Park (including special vendor fairs and performances), the food distribution on July 18 in partnership with the Community Action Partnership of San Bernardino, a Feeding America mobile pantry on July 24, and the Montclair After School Program summer session dates and enrollment information.
Mayor Dutre and council members reported regional transit and local business updates: the mayor and several council members participated in a Gold Line tour and said the Montclair extension is anticipated in the 2030s per project timelines discussed at the tour; Omnitrans received a 40-foot electric demonstration bus and four hydrogen fuel-cell demonstration buses, according to the mayor. Council members also noted a Panera Bread ribbon-cutting planned July 17 and described Chamber shop-local programs and raffles to support local businesses.
Public works staff (speaker 13) said final striping was scheduled that night on newly paved sections of the Monte Vista underpass and that the project is not fully complete; they are discussing extending paving limits north and south.
No formal council actions were taken during these reports; most items were informational and for community awareness.
