Board continues hearing on adopting Clatsop County’s digital zoning map to April 22

Jason Pollock, a county planner, summarized the staff review: the office digitized the original 1983 paper map, corrected errors found during the digitalization, reviewed adopted zoning ordinances and mailed Measure 56 notices as required by the state Department of Land Conservation and Development. Pollock said the planning commission conducted a public hearing on March 10, 2026, and recommended approval.
Pollock told the board staff did not receive any responses to the Measure 56 notices. After brief discussion, a commissioner moved and another seconded to continue the public hearing to the board’s April 22, 2026 meeting and to conduct the ordinance’s second reading then; the motion carried on a voice vote.
No public testimony was offered at the April 8 hearing and staff will return on April 22 for the continuation and second reading.
