Carlsbad police report: one Q3 traffic fatality, rise in e-bike incidents and ongoing enforcement plans

Traffic Sergeant Travis Anderson of the Carlsbad Police Department presented the Department's third-quarter traffic report, telling the Traffic Safety and Mobility Commission the city recorded one traffic fatality in Q3 and several serious incidents that shaped enforcement priorities.
"When you look at the chart here, we notice that we had 1 fatality in quarter 3," Anderson said, and later described a Sept. 10 collision on Las Palmas that killed a pedestrian as "obviously a very tragic incident." He said the driver later was located and arrested on felony charges including DUI causing injury and death and vehicular manslaughter.
