Autauga County Commission approves hiring, promotions, millage rates and surplus sales

The Autauga County Commission on Feb. 3 approved a series of routine personnel and administrative items, including several hires and promotions, adoption of FY2025 millage rates totaling 20.5 mills, and authorization to surplus several pieces of county equipment for sale at the J M Woods auction.
Among personnel actions the commission approved a starting-pay adjustment for Dhija Williams (Correction Officer), and hiring of Adam Bramel (Correction Officer, effective 1/27/2026), Naomi Rojas (Correction Officer, effective 2/2/2026), Tierra Scott (Correction Officer, effective 1/30/2026) and Natalie Kuczmarski as License Clerk (effective 2/9/2026). The commission promoted Angie Calloway to Assistant Chief Clerk (grade 6, step 1), accepted the retirement of Amanda Johnson (Appraiser) effective 2/28/2026 and authorized advertising to hire a Reappraisal Clerk. It also accepted the resignation of Brittney Petty (License Clerk/Election Assistant) effective 2/27/2026.
The board adopted millage rates for FY2025 with no change to current rates: General 5.0 mills; Road & Bridge 2.5 mills; Countywide School 4.0 mills; School District (per Act 2005-25, Amendment 778) 3.0 mills; Special Fire Protection 3.0 mills — a total of 20.5 mills.
The commission approved authorizing surplus and sale of county equipment (auction dates March 17–21, 2026) including two 2023 MACK GR64F dump trucks (VINs 1M2GR4GCXPM029130 and 1M2GR4GC7PM029182), two John Deere 672GP motor graders (2014 VIN 1DW672GPJDE656222; 2012 VIN 1DW672GPLCE645452) and a 2004 MACK CH613 lowboy tractor (VIN 1M1AA18Y64N156571).
The board also approved Change Order #6 with Matthes Parker for Phase II of the Jail/Courthouse project and adopted Resolution No. 2026-11 honoring Robert Bishop for his service as a truck driver from April 9, 2018 to Feb. 26, 2026. Motions on these items passed by unanimous vote.
The commission adjourned at 5:57 p.m. and will reconvene Feb. 17, 2026 at 5:00 p.m.
