Shelley Clark, chair and trustee for Area 2, opened the meeting and told the public the session was being video recorded and livestreamed on the district’s YouTube channel. Clark said the board would take attendance before proceeding to closed session.
Board member Laura Bratt moved to accept the revised closed-session agenda, and Jessie Vansy seconded the motion. The agenda listed ‘‘consideration of student expulsion, Education Code section 48918(c), case number 03/2425’’ and a ‘‘conference with labor negotiators, Government Code section 54957.6,’’ naming Melanie Jones as the district-designated representative and referencing the employee organization CSEA/SEIU.
Before the vote, Clark asked whether there was any public comment; the board recorded that there was none. The board then conducted a roll-call vote: Laura Bratt (Area 3), Rachel Hurd (Area 5), Jessie Vansy (Area 1), Susanna Ordway (Area 4) and Shelley Clark (Area 2) each responded "Aye," and the motion carried.
The board moved into closed session to consider the listed items. No action on the substantive closed-session matters was taken in the public portion of the meeting and outcomes of closed-session deliberations, if any, will be disclosed as required by law.
The meeting record shows the board accepted the revised closed-session agenda and proceeded with private deliberations on the student-discipline matter and labor negotiations.
