Superintendent (speaker 15) brought the policy back for a second reading and asked the board to adopt it.
Vice President Amboy moved to approve the policy and Trustee Flores seconded. The clerk called the roll and recorded four votes in favor with one trustee absent; the motion carried. The superintendent said the policy revises prior district language (referencing section 5131.8) to align with the state requirement and to clarify teacher and site implementation.
Board discussion on the item was procedural and focused on adopting language consistent with state law and local enforcement. No amendment to the proposed policy was recorded on the floor; staff will proceed with implementation following adoption.
