SoCalGas introduces new public-affairs manager; residents raise fire-hydrant, animal-shelter and transit concerns

A resident identified by the clerk as Tina asked about the status of a high-rise hydrant that was removed from her neighborhood about 30 years ago and asked whether the city planned to replace it. She also asked for announced dates for citywide yard-sale days, raised concerns about the need for an animal shelter in the region and thanked outgoing Councilwoman Jeanette.
Another resident, Pat, urged council members to pursue retail and hospitality recruitment through national conferences (ICSC), suggested marketing city assets to attract restaurants and hotels, asked whether traffic and truck counts have been done, and proposed simple bus-stop seating solutions and reusing a vacant former liquor-store building to help people experiencing homelessness.
