Zion ESD 6 board approves technology and service renewals totaling about $245,942

The Zion Elementary School District 6 Board of Education on Aug. 11 approved a package of technology and service renewals, along with related special education and subcontractor contracts presented in the consent agenda.
The board approved renewal of PowerSchool subscriptions for hosting, Engage Suite, enrollment, maintenance and support for $58,171.07 (motion by Denise Lear, seconded by Jazmine Crump). It also approved a one-year GoGuardian renewal for $68,180.00 (motion by Jacqueline San Diego, seconded by Denise Lear), and one-year Palo Alto firewall subscriptions for $41,280.74 (motion by Jazmine Crump, seconded by Jacqueline San Diego). Separately, the board approved a ChromeCare purchase from Xerox for $78,310.00 to provide coverage for 1,780 student Chromebooks across 1-, 2-, and 3-year tiers (motion by Jacqueline San Diego, seconded by Robert Surano).
Taken together, the four technology items approved in open session total $245,941.81. Each item was approved by roll call with no recorded nays.
The board also approved special education related-services contracts with The Stepping Stone Group and Elevation and accepted a slate of subcontractor contracts for staffing and services (including Aya Healthcare, Banner Personnel, Blazerworks, EDU Healthcare, Epic Special Education Staffing, Kaleidoscope Education, Amergis Healthcare/Maxim, Elevation Healthcare, Onward Search, Anchor Staffing, Stepping Stones Group, and HTF Staffing). Those contract approvals were presented and approved as part of the meeting’s consent/vote items.
Board members who made and seconded motions for these items are recorded in the public minutes; the purchases and contracts will be implemented by the district’s business and human-resources departments.
