The council also approved a Fire Relief Association lump‑sum benefit increase — staff said the requested increase is $750 for a revised per‑service‑year benefit of $5,250 — and noted the funding comes primarily from the state’s 2% insurance premium distributions. One council member announced a conflict and said they would abstain from participation; the roll call recorded one abstention (Council member Perez).
Where roll calls were recorded, votes were unanimous in favor for the listed measures except the pension increase which passed with one abstention.
