Commission approves seven-unit townhome project at 164 Cheney Boulevard

Mr. Logan noted the project had been before the commission previously and that the current submittal reflected workshop changes. Alejandro Mojica, project engineer with Morley, said the team had addressed prior comments, added detectable-warning truncated domes at entrances and crossings, relocated accessible parking closer to a building entrance and added seven shrubs along Cheney Boulevard where water meters and sewer connections allowed.
Why it matters: the project makes targeted accessibility and streetscape improvements in response to workshop feedback. Mojica summarized the changes: "We moved [the ADA spaces] closer to one of the buildings ... and we added the detectable warnings ... at the entrance where cars are going to be coming in." The commission voted to accept the site plan as submitted.
Next steps: the applicant will proceed with permit applications and construction in accordance with the approved site plan and city standards.
