The La Verne Planning Commission voted March 31 to approve the final plat for Villages at Woodland Hills Phase 1, a 48‑lot subdivision covering about 22 acres near Interstate 24.
Mr. Logan told the commission the plat sheets show Lots 408–455 across multiple plan pages, that sidewalks are shown on all streets per city requirements and that staff had no remaining comments. "This final plat is located on 22, approximately 22 acres," Mr. Logan said as he walked the commission through the sheets.
During the meeting a commissioner asked whether trees on several lots had been addressed. John Minor, the applicant's representative with SCC, told the commission those trees had been marked and scheduled for removal. "John Minor with SCC, 850 Milton City Boulevard, Murfreesboro," he said when asked to give his name and address for the record.
The commission moved to accept the plat as submitted and approved it by voice vote.
Why it matters: the approval clears the final local land-use step for Phase 1 of the Villages at Woodland Hills and allows the developer to proceed with construction sequencing and utility work; commissioners noted sidewalks per city standards and asked for clarity on tree removal locations as part of construction plans.
Next steps: the applicant will proceed with building permits and field work according to the approved plat and city construction standards.
