Commissioners approve lease buyout, animal-control contract, range repairs and liquor-license renewals

At its May 20 meeting the Laramie County Board of Commissioners approved several routine but required items covering leases, intergovernmental services, facility maintenance and liquor-license renewals.

Lease addendum: The board approved an addendum to a lease with Advanced Investment Solutions, LLC (AIS) that includes a termination payment to the county of $3,710. Meeting discussion described this as a lease buyout and the motion to approve passed by roll call.

Animal control services: Commissioners approved an agreement with the City of Cheyenne authorizing the city to provide animal control services for the county from July 1, 2025, through June 30, 2026, in an amount not to exceed $156,850. County Attorney Mark Vossa said nothing substantive had changed in the agreement and indicated he has found city animal control professional in his interactions: “I have not received any … the level of contacts I used to receive in regard to this from citizens,” he said, describing improved performance.

Shooting sports complex maintenance: The board approved an addendum to a Range Renovations Consulting Inc. work proposal (quote 25Hawaii0330) for $68,970 to replace rubber baffles and upgrade backstop materials at the county shooting sports complex, described as needed safety enhancements and periodic maintenance.

Liquor-license renewals: The board opened a public hearing on 2025–2026 liquor-license renewals for multiple retail, club and bar-and-grill licenses. Staff confirmed applications were in order, fees and property taxes were paid and the sheriff’s office reported no issues. No members of the public spoke during the hearing; the board approved the renewals by roll call.

All items were approved by unanimous roll-call votes. No further business was reported and the commission adjourned.
