The Laramie County Board of Commissioners voted July 15 to approve Amendment No. 2 to agreement 240319-22 with Med Trust LLC (doing business as MedHealth) to extend correctional health services for inmates from July 1, 2025, through June 30, 2026.
Undersheriff Chance Wacomont said the amendment includes a required increase in malpractice insurance for the vendor and a requested 3% contract increase to cover cost-of-living adjustments for employees. "We've been very satisfied with these folks," Wacomont said, and noted the county intends to go out for bid next year.
Commissioners moved and seconded the amendment and approved it by roll-call vote. The meeting record does not include the dollar value of the contract increase; staff said the change preserves continuity of inmate medical services while planning a future competitive procurement.
The board did not discuss additional service changes beyond the insurance and 3% increase noted by the undersheriff.
