Laramie County proclaims Sept. 16 as Voter Registration Day and schedules library outreach event

The Laramie County Board of Commissioners on Sept. 2 adopted a resolution proclaiming Sept. 16, 2025, as Laramie County Voter Registration Day and endorsed a public outreach event at the Laramie County Library.
Elections Manager Michaela Ports told the board the county will partner with the library in the Cottonwood Room from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Sept. 16, offering voter-registration assistance, status checks and a mock election designed to educate attendees. "Fewer than 44,000 Laramie County residents, just 54% of our total voting population are registered to vote," Ports said, using the language included in the proposed resolution adopted by commissioners.
Ports outlined activities at the event, including informational booths, help with documentation to meet Wyoming's new registration requirements and a lighthearted mock vote on library cart names and novelty questions intended to engage attendees. The board moved to approve the proclamation and recorded affirmative roll-call votes.
The county clerk's office will coordinate event logistics with the library and report back on outreach results as appropriate.
