The Laramie County Board of Commissioners voted Dec. 16 to approve an agreement with AVI PC for design and construction-administration services for Round Top Road, with a not-to-exceed amount of $713,911.25.
Molly Cook, Laramie County Public Works, said the work covers the segment from Horse Creek South to the northern limit of the railroad right-of-way and includes construction administration. Bids were solicited and four firms responded; a selection committee made up of representatives from the Cheyenne Metropolitan Planning Organization, the City of Cheyenne, Laramie County and "Wyedot" chose AVI PC based on qualifications, with AVI scoring highest, Cook said. She also said a portion of design and construction costs should be covered by the developer of Round Top Ranch Estates.
A commissioner moved to approve the agreement; after a second the board voted by roll call with Commissioners Heath, Hollingshead, Thompson, Zwonitzer and Chairman Malm recorded as voting Aye.
The approved agreement authorizes the county to proceed with the vendor selection and design work; construction-phase costs and any developer contributions will be handled in later contract and budget steps.
