Laramie County moves to publish public notice for draft fire rules

The Laramie County Board of Commissioners voted Feb. 17 to publish a notice of intent to adopt draft Laramie County fire rules and open a public‑comment period of at least 45 days.
Mark Lawson of the County Attorney's Office told commissioners the draft rules largely mirror the interim rules the board recently adopted and explained the change in local event management: 4‑H has moved a portion of livestock sales and shows out of its previous arrangement, leaving more county oversight of fair activities. ‘‘This is a notice of intent to adopt ... the citizens can send in their comments,’’ Lawson said, and the county will hold a public hearing after the comment period.
The board approved sending the draft rules out for public notice and scheduled follow‑up discussion at a future meeting after the comment period ends. Commissioners emphasized they will consider public input before any permanent adoption.
