Board approves moving approved gaming terminals to Cheyenne Ridge; operators say county machines will not increase

The Laramie County Board of Commissioners adopted a resolution Jan. 20 to modify terminal approvals at an existing gaming location.
County attorney Mark Voss described the request as an addition of terminals at an approved site and said approvals do not alter operator obligations to comply with gaming commission rules.
Tracy Laycock, general counsel for 307 Horse Racing, told the board the company is moving terminals that had been approved for a now‑closed Wyoming Downs location to the Cheyenne Ridge site. "This is simply moving already approved terminals from 1 location to an already preapproved, previously approved location," Laycock said, adding that the change "is actually a net decrease by 8."
Laycock said operators must still seek final approval from the state gaming commission after board action.
The board approved the resolution on roll call with unanimous support.
