William Edwards, speaking for Cabo Racing and Bally’s Wyoming LLC, told the board the transfer was required by the Wyoming Gaming Commission as the business restructured to bring in a new partner who will operate horse‑racing activities. ‘‘What we're asking is a simple assignment basically due to a requirement with the Wyoming Gaming Commission,’’ Edwards said, describing the change as an internal corporate restructuring to accommodate a new operator.
Commissioners discussed briefly and then approved the resolution by roll call. Commissioners expressed anticipation for live horse racing to return under the new arrangement.
The resolution authorizes the assignment and transfer of county commission approvals for live horse racing and related pari‑mutuel wagering at identified county addresses; the motion passed unanimously. The county will still rely on state gaming‑commission approvals as required by state law.
