Laramie County audit finds no material problems; auditor issues clean opinion

The Laramie County Board of Commissioners heard a presentation Feb. 17 on the county’s fiscal year 2025 audit and were told the audit produced a clean, unmodified opinion with no findings or recommendations.
Paul Niedermueller, principal at CliftonLarsonAllen, summarized the firm’s review and told the commissioners the county had no findings related to the financial statements or to the federal single-audit requirements that apply when a local government receives more than $750,000 in federal funds. ‘‘We completed that audit and did not have any findings or recommendations,’’ Niedermueller said, adding that management was accommodating and timely in responding to audit requests.
Stanley Walker, finance director in the Laramie County Clerk’s Office, introduced the audit and noted its completion. Commissioner Thompson praised county finance and grants staff, singling out grants manager Sandra Bey for work on federal grant tracking. The chair said the published audit report should appear on the county website within about five days.
No formal action was required by the board on the audit presentation; commissioners took the presentation as information and moved on to the rest of the agenda.
