Hearing officer enters corrected school transcripts as nurse’s disciplinary case continues

Hearing officer Stacy Shulman opened a continued administrative hearing in the Department of Public Health’s case against Aluchi Wacocha, RN, APRN (petition nos. 2025-280 and 2025-442), and entered a notice of continued hearing dated Jan. 16, 2026, into the record as Board Exhibit 8. Shulman then offered replacement, clearer copies of previously submitted respondent exhibits and marked an academic record from Sierra Allied Health Academy as respondent exhibit J after counsel raised no objection.
Attorney Kataya, representing the respondent, resumed direct examination of Miss Wacocha regarding her academic history. Miss Wacocha testified she attended Sierra Allied Health Academy in person from February to October 2012 and that she transferred roughly 10 credits from prior coursework, including anatomy and physiology (6 credits), nutrition (3 credits) and two additional courses totaling approximately 4 credits she described during the hearing.
Miss Wacocha told the panel she contacted the New Jersey Board of Nursing after learning a transcript error had been identified. "They referred me to the lady that is in charge of the transcript," she said, and that person corrected and updated her transcript. The witness identified the signature on the corrected record as Robin Theas and said the change was made because "there was a mistake" affecting multiple students.
On her educational timeline, Miss Wacocha said she practiced for about five years after her initial diploma, then pursued further coursework at Rockland Community College. She testified she was pregnant with her second daughter while attending Sierra Allied and did not work during that program because it was a full-time, Monday-through-Friday schedule. She confirmed the Sierra Allied credential was a diploma in practical nursing, listing it as licensed practical nursing.
The hearing officer and counsel confirmed the witness remained under oath from the prior date and did not re-administer the oath. No formal motions or votes were taken during the portion of the hearing on the record; the proceeding continued with examination and exhibit handling. The case remains subject to further testimony and administrative procedures.
