Pond described the initiative as the team’s effort to “improve cross departmental coordination, develop a vision and an ability to communicate it, move from reactive responses to proactive positioning, update policies and LDR regulations to align with ecosystem stewardship principles, and strategic planning for financial costs of conservation.” She said staff had produced a report, supporting documents and a PowerPoint that outline four concepts: Now, Now Plus, Near Future and Far Future.
