Commissioners approve $827,149.73 voucher run; hearing officer appointed

The Teton County Board of Commissioners opened its Feb. 23 voucher meeting by adopting the agenda and approving the monthly voucher run of $827,149.73. Commissioner (speaker 3) moved to approve the vouchers; a second was recorded and the motion carried unanimously.
Commissioners noted the packet included a health insurance payment of $119,271.87 to the county’s plan provider. Chair Newcomb observed employee health benefits are an important part of local government responsibilities.
The board also considered a procedural item to appoint a hearing officer in a new contested case involving the Willowbrook Owners Association and the Teton County planning director. County Clerk Maureen Murphy introduced the item and the board voted to appoint Rata as the hearing officer for the docket referenced at the meeting.
The meeting closed regular business so the board could proceed to three scheduled workshops on planned residential development rules, the Parks and Recreation joint powers agreement, and wildfire/insurance matters.
