The Cleburne County Quorum Court on Feb. 12 unanimously adopted an appropriation ordinance amending previously adopted budgets for sheriff, jail and ARPA audit accounts.
JP Malone introduced the ordinance, titled as an amendment to Ordinance Nos. 2024-42 and 2025-23, and moved for adoption. JP Evans seconded the motion. A roll-call vote recorded Ayes from JPs Baugh, Beavers, Evans, Fletcher, Foust, Henegar, Malone, Martin, McClung, Moorehead and Tamburo; there were no Nays. The court declared the motion passed and the measure was adopted as Ordinance 2026-03.
The Budget Committee had reported earlier in the meeting that county finances were "in good standing" and that an ordinance would follow; the adopted ordinance implements those committee adjustments for the sheriff, jail and ARPA audit budget lines. The ordinance text was read into the record as an appropriations amendment to the 2025 and 2026 budget ordinances.
The adoption followed routine committee reports and occurred without recorded debate; no amendments to the ordinance were offered on the floor. The court scheduled its next regular meeting for March 12, 2026.
Action details: the motion to adopt was made by JP Malone and seconded by JP Evans; the roll call recorded 11 Ayes, 0 Nays. No abstentions or recusals were recorded.
The meeting was called to order by County Judge Eric Crosby at 6:02 p.m. and adjourned at 6:29 p.m.
