Maywood trustees approve liquor license renewal, increase video gaming terminals and amend Economic Development Commission

At its Dec. 3 meeting the Maywood Board of Trustees approved a Class M liquor-license renewal for Lacey's Place, adopted an amendment to allow more video-gaming terminals, approved fire-department maintenance payments and passed changes to the Economic Development Commission ordinance (5–2).
The Village of Maywood Board of Trustees on Dec. 3 approved several routine and governance measures in a single omnibus motion and separate votes.
The board unanimously approved three omnibus items: renewal of a Class "M" retail liquor license with extended hours for Lacey's Place LLC (611 W. Roosevelt Road), an amendment to Title XI (Business Regulations), Chapter 125 (Video Gaming) to increase the maximum number of permitted video-gaming terminals, and payment to Fire Services Inc. IL for vehicle maintenance, repairs, parts and service in the amount of $6,979.77. The omnibus motion passed on a unanimous voice vote.
Trustees also approved Warrant List No. 200482 (through Nov. 26, 2019) in the amount of $676,144.75.
Under new business the board approved the calendar-year 2020 regular meeting schedule. The minutes record Mayor Perkins recommending that the July meeting date be changed from July 21 to July 14; the meeting record lists the replacement date with the year '2019,' which appears to be a typographical error in the minutes and is corrected here as a transcript anomaly rather than an asserted change in 2019 calendar practice.
The board considered and approved amendments to the Village Code (Title III, Chapter 31) updating the Economic Development Commission. Trustee N. Booker moved and Trustee M. Lightford seconded an amended motion that accepted the attorney's revisions and changed provision "F" from monthly meetings to "as needed" and modified provision "B" to state the president shall appoint. The motion carried with Ayes recorded for Trustees M. Jones, A. Sanchez, K. Wellington, M. Lightford and N. Booker and Nays recorded for Mayor Edwenna Perkins and Trustee I. Brandon.
Old business notes that Trustee N. Booker raised the Farmers Market at the 200 Building; Trustees K. Wellington and M. Jones expressed concerns and Booker moved to carry the item to the next meeting; no action was taken on the Farmers Market at the Dec. 3 meeting.
The meeting adjourned by consensus at 10:28 p.m.
