Salon Dolce Vita celebrated the opening of a new salon at 485 Route 1 South in Edison during a ribbon-cutting ceremony attended by local officials and Chamber representatives. Joe Coyle of the Anderson Chamber of Commerce introduced the event and Mayor Sam Josi led the welcome and countdown to cut the ribbon.
"We are here at Salon Dolce Vita at 485 Route 1 South at the corner of Plainfield," Mayor Sam Josi said, describing the location and noting he had toured the space. He singled out a newly added "Tranquility Room," a private area the salon built so customers can relax during treatments.
The salon owner, who did not provide her name during remarks, said the business has been serving Edison "for about going on 22 years now" and chose the new location for its visibility and parking. "I don't wanna just move what we had, the same old stuff into the new location. I wanna sort of do something new, something different," she said, explaining the inspiration for the Tranquility Room and describing it as a quiet space for head massages and relaxation.
The owner also thanked Edison Township staff and building inspectors for assistance during the relocation. She said Salon Dolce Vita focuses exclusively on hair services — "keratin treatments, color, highlights" — and praised the experienced stylists on her team. The owner said the salon had been settled into the new site "about a month and a half."
The ribbon cutting concluded the brief program, with Mayor Sam Josi counting down the ceremonial cut. No formal votes or policy actions were part of the event.
The salon's address is 485 Route 1 South, at the corner of Plainfield Avenue; the business was introduced to the community by the Anderson Chamber of Commerce and welcomed by Edison municipal leadership.
