The board held the statutorily required public hearing under N.C. Gen. Stat. §158-7.1; no members of the public spoke. Vice-Chair J. Michael Edney moved to authorize incentives under the board’s economic development policy; the motion passed unanimously among members present.
County staff noted that if approved the assistance would be funded through general property tax revenue and that the company had requested anonymity due to competitive concerns. The board did not specify contract terms in detail during the meeting; staff will complete any required follow-up agreements consistent with county policy and state statute.
