Emergency-services committee reports improvements; matching funds presented to EMS and fire departments

The Cleburne County Quorum Court received updates from its Emergency Services Oversight Committee and heard a community matching-fund presentation on Dec. 11, 2025.
Emergency services: JP Foust said the committee discussed a forthcoming floodplain workshop (date to be announced), ongoing improvements to radio reception countywide, and that sirens in Wilburn and Greers Ferry are now functional. He reported six volunteer fire departments have applied for grants and said shelters will be addressed at the committee's next meeting.
Community matching funds: JP Henegar presented Matching Fund checks related to the Bobby Mooney Fundraiser Challenge to EMS and fire departments that were present at the meeting.
Committee scheduling: JP Evans noted the Budget Committee did not meet and will next meet Dec. 22 at 8:00 a.m.; he also reported that the Jail Committee will meet Dec. 15 and that SouthBuild will be in attendance.
The court announced its next regular meeting for Jan. 8, 2026.
