Quorum Court adopts traffic ordinance update and jail budget amendment

The Cleburne County Quorum Court voted to adopt two ordinances during its Dec. 11, 2025 meeting.
Traffic ordinance update: JP Malone introduced an ordinance to amend Ordinance No. 2021-16, which establishes certain driving violations and penalties. Malone moved to suspend the rules and allow reading by title only; JP Martin seconded and the motion carried by voice vote. Malone then moved to adopt the ordinance and JP Evans seconded. A roll-call vote recorded ayes from JPs Baugh, Beavers, Evans, Fletcher, Foust, Henegar, Malone, Martin, Moorehead and Tamburo; no nays were recorded and JP McClung was absent. The ordinance passed and was adopted as Ordinance 2025-29.
Jail budget amendment: JP Evans introduced an appropriation ordinance amending the 2025 budget (Ordinance 2025-30). Evans moved to adopt the ordinance and JP Fletcher seconded. Roll-call vote again recorded ten ayes and one absence (McClung); the ordinance passed and was adopted as Ordinance 2025-30.
The minutes do not include the text of the traffic ordinance changes or line-item details of the jail budget amendment; both measures were recorded as adopted and will appear in county records as Ordinance 2025-29 and Ordinance 2025-30.
