The staff memo and resolution cite Act No. 2017‑120 as the enabling state law and note Code of Alabama §11‑51‑210(e) which requires counties to notify the Alabama Department of Revenue of changes to local tax levies at least 30 days before the effective date. The resolution instructs county staff to forward a certified copy to the ADOR in compliance with that statutory timeline.
Vice Chairman Carmen Moore‑Zeigler moved to adopt the resolution; Commissioner Harris seconded, and the commission recorded the motion as carried unanimously. The resolution was placed on the record and the commission directed staff to provide the certified resolution to the Alabama Department of Revenue before the June 18, 2025 deadline specified in staff materials.
