MOUs and programs: Trustees approved a memorandum of understanding with the Imperial County Office of Education to provide PBIS professional development for site teams during the 2025–26 school year (motion by Trustee Calderon; second by Trustee Ravinia; vote 5–0). The board also approved an MOU with Me and Mind Incorporated for a K–5 social‑emotional learning program for 2025–26; Trustee Castillo asked that district staff return with data on program impact, and the superintendent said the district is partnering with Stanford University to provide analytics and professional development support for participating teachers (motion passed 5–0).
Labor and governance items: The board approved the California School Employees Association (CSEA) Chapter 399 sunshine initial proposal to the district and the district’s sunshine proposal to CSEA Chapter 399 as part of successor collective bargaining negotiations (motions and seconds recorded; votes 5–0). The board also approved a designee for the Imperial County Adult Education Consortium for 2025–26.
Resolutions and property actions: Trustees adopted a resolution proclaiming May 18–24, 2025 as Classified School Employee Week; they passed a resolution declaring the futility of public bidding for baked goods for the food services department; and they approved disposition of a surplus water pump at Enrique Camarena Junior High School. All items passed on recorded unanimous voice votes.
Trustee Castillo asked that the board receive follow‑up data on the social‑emotional learning program to assess impact over time. The meeting then recessed for closed session.
