Dixon USD 170 board moves into executive session to discuss personnel matter, returns and adjourns

The Dixon USD 170 Board of Education held a special meeting Oct. 22, 2025, called to order at 4:45 p.m. by President Linda Wegner. At 4:48 p.m. the board voted unanimously to adjourn to executive session to discuss the appointment, employment, compensation, discipline, performance, or dismissal of specific employees and to hear testimony on a complaint against an employee.

Board member David Fritts made the motion to go into executive session; Melissa Gates seconded. The motion was approved by roll call: Fritts, Gates, Schaefer, LeBlanc-Parks, Rogers, Wadsworth and Wegner voting yea; none voted nay.

The meeting record shows the board returned to open session at 8:03 p.m. on a motion by Melissa Gates, seconded by Brandon Rogers, which was approved by roll call with the same recorded votes. The special meeting was then adjourned on a motion by Gates, seconded by Kathleen Schaefer; the minutes state "All were in favor."
