Harrison County commissioners approve claims, payroll and township payments; riverboat-sharing agreements signed

Harrison County commissioners Nelson Stepro and Brad Wiseman approved regular claims and the county payroll during their Jan. 20 meeting in Corydon, voting 2–0 to carry both motions.

The board also approved several flagged vendor payments and township disbursements. Commissioners allowed payment to Aquablu for $23 and approved a $1,118 payment to Spectrum Sight & Sound contingent on funding being available and a W-9 being on file with the auditor. The commissioners approved payments to multiple townships and service vendors contingent on contracts being completed and filed with the auditor, including Blue River Services ($4,120), Boone Township ($4,075), Franklin Township ($10,640), Harrison Township ($34,500), Heth Township ($3,700), Jackson Township ($19,290), Morgan Township ($10,295), Posey Township ($8,715), Spencer Township ($5,740), Taylor Township ($2,535), Washington Township ($1,500) and Webster Township ($5,340).

County Auditor Sara Burdick told the board she had received the county clerk and treasurer monthly reports for December; the commissioners acknowledged receipt. Burdick also presented public official bonds for the sheriff, coroner, assessor and surveyor and the board voted to sign them.

The board later approved twelve annual riverboat-sharing interlocal cooperation agreements with the county's townships, each listed at $110,000; Auditor Burdick noted those amounts align with the payments acted on earlier in the meeting. All motions related to claims and interlocal agreements carried on unanimous 2–0 votes.

Next steps: flagged payments that were approved contingent on documentation will proceed once the auditor confirms contracts and required forms are on file, and the riverboat-sharing agreements will be executed as approved.
