A second resident, Gary, told council that any future decision should be grounded in pertinent traffic data and defensible traffic-study methods. Other residents asked the city to report historical accident, speed and vehicle-count data after the 2003 renovation and to ensure that future access changes do not destabilize the nearby Veterans War Memorial or school-area safety.
City staff confirmed an open house on March 2 to present further information and the mayor noted staff will follow up; residents asked for transparent, documented traffic studies and public participation before any permanent change.
