Board accepts 2024–25 audit; bond audit clean with one minor state exception

The Los Banos Unified School District board unanimously accepted the district’s 2024–25 financial and compliance audit on Jan. 8 after an audit presentation by the district’s external auditor.
Jeanette Garcia, the CPA presenting the report, told trustees the financial statements were fairly presented in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles, federal compliance testing had no exceptions and the Proposition 39 bond financial/performance audit also showed no exceptions. She said there was one minor exception in state compliance testing, which the auditors documented in the report.
Board members said the finance committee had met with the auditors and staff earlier to review the books and that the committee’s questions were answered. The board carried a motion to accept the audit report by unanimous vote.
The board directed staff to file the audit reports as required and to continue the routine review process with the finance committee.
