Board approves three-year Me & Mine SEL license after yearlong pilot

The Calexico Unified School District board approved a resolution to continue the Me & Mine social-emotional learning (SEL) program after a yearlong pilot.
Superintendent Jimenez said Me & Mine — a video-lesson SEL program piloted in TK–4 — showed promising results during the pilot year and had been provided for free during the trial. He described the platform as animated, research-based content (developed out of Stanford research, per staff remarks) aimed at building skills like effort, tenacity and resiliency. Jimenez said staff observed reductions in suspensions and office disciplinary referrals and recommended purchasing a three-year site license to continue the program into the 2026–27 school year.
Jimenez noted the district’s broader SEL approach also uses Impactr, PBIS and MTSS practices and that staff have aligned multiple strategies to support the whole child. A Me & Mine representative was present but did not give a separate presentation. Trustees moved and approved the resolution 5-0.
The district will move forward with the multi-year license at elementary sites identified in the agreement and will monitor outcomes and implementation fidelity as part of regular oversight.
